The Courage Concert: Stopping the Domestic and Sexual Abuse

WB Finance is pleased to sponsored The Courage Concert, organized by World Hope International, which will be launched from 6-10 PM on 10 December 2018 on Human Right Day at Kimsan Land in Kompong Speu provincial capital.

The Courage Concert aims to raise the awareness of domestic and sexual abuse on Cambodian’s women and children. This is also a part of the Enhancing Responses to Sexual and Gender based Violence project by World Hope International that has engaged 20,000 individuals since 2016, trained 100 social service providers, supported nearly 400 survivors of abuse, and built networks across the public – private sectors to create a safer world for women and girls and improve responsiveness to abuse.

Mr. Preap Piseth, Director of Operations of WB Finance, said “We have engaged a lot of CSR and this is such another good activity to contribute to raise awareness of domestic violence. It also helps to send message as well as educate more people to understand more about the negative impact of domestic violence on Cambodian people”.

This concert will be participated by some top latent such as Meas Soksophea, Cambodia’s most popular singer; Sao Oudom, who has made a name for himself on Cambodian Idol; as well as Todd Smith, Cambodia’s most popular emcee.

“I am very happy to be invited to participate in this event. As we all know, domestic violence has created a lot of problem for some Cambodian’s families especially those who live in a rural area. This event could educate a lot of people in Kompong Speu to get more understanding about the impact of such violence and how to prevent it from happening” said Meas Soksophea.
